What Is Procrastination?

Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something. It is a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences.

We all procrastinate. It’s common for human beings. But if we keep procrastinating on our plans then we may never do what we want to do. It can lead to regret.

Why we procrastinate?

We have two voices.

One which says do this work right now. It will be helpful.

Second, which says we can do it later. We can do it tomorrow even we can do it the day after tomorrow. This voice is so cunning. It never says that you should not do this work. It always gives us excuses not to do it now. It makes us overthink. We start thinking like will it worth it if we do it. We start doubting ourselves. We start overthinking as is this work good enough even if we know very well that it’s good. Due to this voice, we keep delaying. And this is called procrastination.

We are animals. We are the creatures of habits. If we keep delaying our plans then it becomes our habit. It’s a bad habit. This habit doesn’t tell us to procrastinate on bad things like it never says us…
